We dare you to say we don’t live in a rape culture.

Amazingly, not The Onion:

“[W]e now have young men telling Bloomberg News that they basically view their female peers as rape bombs just waiting to explode and ruin their lives.”

I am going to throw up.

The Bloomberg article is freaking ridiculous. Can’t believe this isn’t satirical. Also, as is common, completely disregards the population of male survivors of assault that so rarely have a voice in these issues.

Does bring up the fact that we still need to work on how effectively we discuss sexual assault and dating violence. These guys are still talking about what they perceive as “blurred lines” and being terrified to cross them, when in reality proper and honest communication would generally solve these situations.

It’s what really gets me about the misconception of feminism, destruction of rape culture, etc., it’s not meant to make men or women feel as if they are being judged or seen as untrustworthy, smarmy, mustache twirling creeps. It’s about equality and safety and respect for every individual.

stop romanticizing the idea of becoming so dependent on another human being that you cannot function adequately without their presence goodbye

yeah except theres disabled people and mentally ill people who literally cannot live alone or without help, and are always going to be dependent on someone lmao but just fuck disabled and mentally ill people am i right guys

That isn’t romanticizing being dependent. That’s the situation that mentally or physically disabled people are in and they can’t live or function without depending on another person. You completely are missing the entire point.

really sick of seeing so much hate directed towards the police on here. look, we get it, you prefer sting’s solo work, i like it too alright? that doesnt mean ‘every little thing she does is magic’ and ‘can’t stand losing you’ arent awesome jams. ‘roxanne’ and ‘don’t stand so close to me’ are classic, don’t even get me started on ‘spirits in the material world’. just stop ok?
